Amber Sorum, BSN, RN
Counseling Intern 
​

​Amber is currently attending University of North Dakota obtaining her Master’s of Art degree in Community Mental Health Counseling. She is expected to graduate in December of 2024. Amber pursued a career in counseling to provide mental health services to rural areas. She grew up in Page, ND and attended Jamestown College. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She lives in Oakes, ND, which she has for the past 17 years.

Amber has been in the medical field since 1999. She has worked in nursing homes, hospital/ER and is currently a phone nurse at a clinic in Oakes. For her counseling practicum, she completed a semester at an elementary school in Fargo, ND counseling children Kindergarten through 6th grade.​ Amber will be interning at Inspire Counseling from May until December 2024.

Amber utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy.
